Molly New Hairdo

Molly has gotten tired of having tangles.  Really, she's tired of me trying to comb out her tangles and making her cry.  I try every time to do it so nicely and she almost always ends up in tears.  So, today her and I both got hair cuts.  Hers is shorter than I intended, but it looks super cute and she loves it.  Here are the before and afters.

Our Aspiring Meteorologist

One of Tyler's favorite things to do is watch the Weather Channel.  He likes to check the weather in all the different places our families live.  He also likes Storm Chasers and any show about tornadoes. For Christmas, my mom got him a weather book, weather kit with several different weather projects to do, and two certificates to go to two different news stations to meet the meteorologist.  Tonight we went to KSAT 12 and met with Meteorologist, Katie Vossler.  She was so nice.  She showed us around the station, answered any questions Tyler had, and we got to sit in for the news.  It was very interesting.  Here are some pictures.
Katie has two computers at her desk where she looks up the weather and anything she puts on her computers there also go onto the computers in the studio.  She gets all her info for the newscast ready at her desk.

This is in the studio in front of the green screen.  There are 3 computers set up on each side and those are the screens that show up on the news.  Katie can watch as she's pointing and delivering the weather.

This is the view of the other side.
We all enjoyed it!  We'll be going to FOX 29 in a couple of weeks.

Happy New Years

Last night for New Year's Eve, we stayed home and had some fun of our own.  We had balloons with times written on them.  At the time,we'd pop the balloon and do the activity written on a piece of paper in the balloon.
Our activities were to make pizza for dinner, play New Year's Eve Bingo, decorate edible party hats, fill out a year in review paper and make family goals/plans for 2015, play more games, watch a movie, and finally do poppers.

Tyler has a straw because our first game was seeing who could blow a plastic cup across the table that fastest. Then we had a cookie that started on the forehead and you had to try to get it into your mouth without using your hands.  Neither were successful, but it was fun to watch them.

Molly went to bed around 9:45.  Scott and I headed to bed at 10:45.  Tyler went to bed then since we were, but he was actually still going strong.

We're looking forward to a fun 2015.

Fall pictures in IL

While we were in IL back in October, I had the kid's pictures taken.  It was cold that day, but the kids did great.  The pictures turned out really cute.  Tyler is 7 years old and Molly is 3 1/2 years old.

Christmas Concert

Last night we took Tyler to the K Love Christmas Tour.  The main performer was Jeremy Camp. By the time he came on at 9:00, Tyler had fallen asleep. I don't know how he can sleep through the loud music.  Before Jeremy Camp, Love and the Outcome was on, Christ August, and Plumb.
We got there at 6:00 and had to wait in a long line till the doors opened at 6:30.

Christmas Things

We have our calender where we pull out a card everyday of December and do something holidayis.  We've read the Nativity Story, Christmas stories, had two Christmas breakfasts, Christmas dinner, played Christmas memory, gotten peppermint shakes from Chick-fil-a, we took boxes of food to the food bank, went to look at lights, watched Christmas movies, went to see Santa....One fun thing we did was make a Christmas craft-we made crystalized snowflakes.  You just have to use pipe cleaners, borax and water.

Our subdivision had Breakfast with Santa last Saturday. The kids had fun.  I thought it'd be super busy, so we got their early.  Since there was no line, Molly got to see Santa 4 or 5 times.

Bass Pro Shop

Today we went to Bass Pro Shop for our annual Santa picture.  I even took Tyler out of school early since we had to wait so long last year.  This year, it was a breeze, no line and then plenty of time to play.

This little girl was so excited to see Santa.  She had just gotten a new Christmas doggie shirt and couldn't wait to wear it.  The puppy on her shirt is named Holly.  She wanted a Christmas name.

Tyler would like one of these boats. Molly's vote is for the black and gold one.  "Because it's so sparkly!"
