All Dressed Up

Scott and I got invited to our friend, Kate's "Little Black Dress" 30th birthday party. I love getting dressed up and going out. I don't have any pictures from the party, but it was fun and the food was great. This is me at 29 weeks.

Great Weather

We have had some great weather this past week. In the mornings and evening it does get cold, but for a few hours in the afternoon, it's great. Tyler has been busy outside. He usually digs in the mulch and fills up his sand table. He did that the other day and I told him when he was finished with the mulch, we had a new bag of sand in the garage. He, of course, wanted sand right away. We used the hose to clean the sand table and all his buckets, shovels... Then we had to use the dolly to bring the sand in back. He loved filling up sand and wheeling it around the yard on the dolly. He had fun hauling other things too.
Today, Tyler scored himself a new wheelbarrow-he bought it with his Christmas money. We moved mulch from tree to tree and carted it around on the dolly too.

Tool Man Tyler

Everyone knows Tyler is all about tools. He plays with his everyday and is always very excited when we do a project and he gets to use Daddy's tools. For Christmas, we got him some of the kid projects from Lowes and he loved them. He had them all finished within a week though. Today we went to the Lowes workshops for kids. Tyler got to make a ball toss and he had fun. Lowes is now his favorite store. He was finished with his ball toss in about 15 min. We spent the next 45 min. looking at all the tools and tool boxes.

Ice Dog

Wrigley loves to have ice. If we ever get any ice, he's over there quickly wanting a piece. Sometimes at night, he can be a little annoying, constantly whining at the freezer for ice. When that happens, we give him a bowl of ice and that keeps him busy for while. He had a bowl the other day and this is what happened.

What Tyler's been up to

A few weeks ago, I told Tyler to get ready to go. When he told me he was ready, this is how he was. Maybe he'll be taking after Daddy. (We had to bring the golf clubs with us)
Last week we went bowling. We hadn't been since the summer. Here's Mr. Cool Man.
He thought he was so cool carrying the ball with one hand.
Today we went to the dentist. Tyler had his first cleaning and did great. He didn't want to sit by himself, but he was wonderful the whole time.

Mr. Tyler

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Here are just a few things about Mr. Tyler. He talks about the baby now all the time. He tells me he will teach his sister not to bang on the walls. I wonder who is going to teach him because I haven't been able to. He tells me he'll read to his sister and that we'll have to put up Daddy's tools because she's too little to play with them. He also kisses my tummy a lot. He likes to stick out his tummy and tell me his is getting bigger, but not with a baby because only girls have babies. It's sweet to hear him. The other day, my friend had her baby. When we took her dinner, Tyler wanted to hold baby Landon. Usually he doesn't really care about the babies too much. He said he'll hold his sister too.

The other night Tyler picked out a story to read about Heaven. He wanted to know if Ivy and Wrigley would be going with us to heaven and if they would need their leashes, things like that. He wanted to know when we'd be going to heaven. I told him when Jesus comes back, he'll take us with him. I didn't want to get into the whole-when we die...He wanted to know how Jesus would come back. He's talked to me about it several times this week.
Tyler: Mommy, Jesus will come and take us to Heaven?
Me: Yes He will
Tyler: Will He come on an airplane?
Me: No, He'll just come down
Tyler: On a hot air balloon?
Me: No, He'll just come down, kinda like He's flying
Tyler: On a kite?
Me: No sweetie, He'll just descend from Heaven. I'm not sure how else to explain it to you. He'll just come down on his own like a miracle.
Usually after this he may ask about the airplane and kite again. He doesn't really get it. We've talked about this quite a few times already.

Christmas in IL

We had a good trip to IL over Christmas. The day after we got in, we took all the kids to see Santa. When we met my sisters at the mall, Tyler and his cousins all hugged. It was so cute. This is Tyler and Kaleb. Kaleb is 1 month younger than Tyler. They had lots of fun together. The next picture is Tyler with his cousin, Zac. I haven't seen Zac since last year and he's got lots of energy and is quite loud. On Christmas Eve, it was snowing, so my Dad asked Tyler if he wanted to take a walk in the snow. He said yes. We got him all bundled up. They left out the back door and walked down the sidewalk to the street. My parents live on a corner and the sidewalks were too slick to walk on. So, they come up to turn onto our street and Tyler walks to the house. My dad, said, come on, let's walk around the block, but Tyler was finished. He said it was too cold. The walk ended up being from the back door around to the front door. That night we celebrated Christmas with my Dad's side of the family. It was nice to see all my grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins and catch up with everyone. One thing Tyler wanted for Christmas was Cars slippers. Every time he saw Santa or someone asked what he wanted Santa to bring, he'd say Cars slippers. My aunt got them for him and he loves them. He talked me into letting him wear them to the store the other day. (He had to ride in the cart though). Christmas day was spent with my family. The kids didn't wake us all up till 7:00 since we got home late the night before. Here is a family pic of us outside in the snow. This is the race track Tyler got. Him and Kaleb had fun playing with it. Sunday, Scott went to the Bears game with my sisters, Kim, Valerie, and her husband, Jason. Jason is a huge Bears fan. They had to get there early and tailgated for 3 hours and then sat at the game for another 3 hours. They had a good time. Scott said it was cold-he had on five layers and my dad had let him use his coveralls. I think it was around 23-25 degrees the whole time. The Bears won, so I guess it was worth it to go. While Scott was at the game, we stayed home with all the kids and they got to play in the snow. They had fun being pulled on the sled. Tyler loved falling in the snow, climbing the big snow piles made from the snow plows and his favorite-making and throwing snowballs at us.
Monday morning we visited with my grandma. She plays the harp and played lots of songs for us. Tyler really enjoyed it. We flew home that evening. Tyler was great on the airplane for us. He was excited to see that Santa had filled his stocking here too. He had already opened his presents from us and Scott's family before we left for IL. It was a good trip, but it's always nice to be back to our more quiet home.
