Fun with Grandma

Tyler had a blast with my mom while she was here. First, she took him to the Home Depot Workshop. This week, they could pick a project to do. Tyler picked the heart shelf because he wanted to make it for Molly-how sweet is that! After they made the shelf, he got to go shopping with Grandma in Home Depot. I know he was in heaven. They bought a hole for him to practice his putting-they would have to put it together themselves. They bought wood and things to screw into the wood-hinges, a door handle...Tyler is able to keep these out as long as he only takes out the screws of these and screws them back in. He's loving it! They also made tie-dye shirts. Tyler's is blue and Molly's is yellow-colors for West Virginia football.

2 Weeks

I can't believe Molly is already 2 weeks old. It's gone by fast. I absolutely love having a baby again. She's so little and I want her to stay that way. I don't want her to get bigger, even if it would mean more sleep for me at night. She is just so precious. I love having a girl! We had her 2 week appointment today and she weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. She's gained 1 lb and 1 oz since birth. She is a good eater-her cheeks are chubbier now.

Tyler has been such a good big brother! He loves Molly so much and wants to tell everyone about her. The past two days were our first days on our own and he was great!! I'm so proud of him. Some things he says are- Mommy, bring my baby sister up here. I'm sure she'll love watching me build. Mommy, I think Molly wants to watch Curious George with me. Mommy, let's go to the park. Molly will have so much fun watching me play. If he wants something and I'm feeding Molly, he'll say-Mommy, will you do this after you're done feeding Molly. Every morning, he likes to kiss her or pet her hair and tell her good morning. When she's upset, which is rarely, he'll tell her-it's OK Molly. Now with a baby, Tyler seems so huge to me. When I make sure he's covered before I go to bed, his hands and feet look big.

Easter

We had a nice Easter. In the beginning of April, we made this egg garland. Tyler had fun decorating the eggs. We had to add a carrot to each end since that is what the Easter Bunny eats. This year we started a new tradition with Resurrection Eggs. The week of Easter, I hid one or two each day and Tyler would find them. They each have a little symbol in them to tell the story of Easter. Tyler enjoyed it. Of course, Tyler loved coloring his eggs and had fun finding them in the morning.

Tyler's big Easter gift this year was a bike. I had wanted to get him one at Christmas, but when I asked him if he wanted one, he told me, "no, I just like my scooter." In the last month, he's been asking for one. I was expecting a big reaction when he walked into the living room, but instead he just said-What's that bike doing in here? After he looked through his basket, then he was excited and couldn't wait to ride it. He's doing great on it!

Here is our family picture. I loved Molly's little Easter dress. In the picture with Tyler, she has on a sweater over it that my grandma knitted. She actually knitted it for Tyler, but since he was born in July, he didn't get to use it. Molly had it just in case she got cold in church.

More Pictures

Tyler is loving being a big brother. He likes to check on Molly when she's sleeping. He gets me diapers, blankets... He likes to help pick out what she wears. Yesterday, he said she needed a clip so she'd be cute.
Grandma Chambers arrived today from IL and Molly thought she'd be a great place to nap.

Molly Elizabeth

We came home from the hospital this afternoon and everything is going great. Molly is a such good girl. She's doing great nursing and she slept well last night, so hopefully she will again tonight. Tyler loves his little sister.

Almost time

Tonight is the night. We are getting ready to go out to dinner, drop Tyler off at his friends, then we're off to the hospital. We are set to induce at 7:00. I'll keep you posted and hope to post pics of baby girl Shobe soon.

That time of year again

Today was our first time at the pool this year. The water was a little cool, but not too bad. Once you sat in the sun for awhile, it felt good. Tyler had a blast playing. He ran through the water falls, dumped buckets of water on his head, and even went underwater. I was a little worried about him needing earplugs since he had tubes put in back in Feb., but they stayed in great and we had no trouble.

Daddy & Tyler Go Shopping

Scott took Tyler with him to the store today and this is what they came home with. Tyler has been asking to go golfing with Scott, even more so the last few days since we've had the Masters on. He has a plastic set of clubs, but this is way better. Now he wants to go to the driving range with Scott. I think he'll need to practice a bit before that happens. Tyler was so excited to have clubs like Daddy and had to use them all out back. He likes putting inside into a cup too.

39 Weeks

Well I've made it 39 weeks. I am hoping she will come soon. Tonight would be fine. Really, now that I'm 39 weeks, my doctor said she'd induce at any time, but I'd like the baby to come on her own. She is very very low. My doctor can't believe she hasn't come. If I make it to my appt. next Wednesday, then we'll decide to induce either Thursday, Friday, or Monday. I keep walking every day hoping she'll come.

All Boy

Tyler likes tools, cars, construction machines...pretty much boy stuff. He even surprised me when he started picking up rolly pollies by himself. Usually he doesn't like to get dirty. When we paint, he is very careful. He no longer likes to made crafts that involves getting his hand/foot print if I have to put paint all over his hand or foot. He used to not mind that. Even last week at Sea World, he didn't want to touch the fish to feed to the dolphins, which he loved to do before. Today he was playing with the water hose outside and you can imagine my surprise when he called to me to look at him. He was covered in mud. I said-I thought you didn't like to get dirty. He said-he's OK getting dirty with mud. He jumped around and had a blast.

Birthday Girl

Today is our sweet Ivy's 10th birthday! Ivy is Miss Independent and the boss of Wrigley. She loves to be outside watching for squirrels and going on walks. She loves to guard her toys and will let you know if you're too close. She chases the light when the door opens and shuts and enjoys playing with flashlight light too. She's always up for a game of fetch with her ball. She's a fun little girl.
When we first got Ivy, she was only 2 1/2 lbs. You can see in the top picture that one ear is not totally up yet. She was the runt of the liter and they told us she'd only get to 15 lbs, but she didn't stay the runt. She's usually between 18-20 pounds.

Baby Girl's Nursery

Here are pictures of the baby's room. It's pretty much finished. You'll notice on the dresser, I still need a lamp shade and I want to get a little basket to put on there with diapers, wipes, etc. Above her crib, we'll have her name, but it's not there yet since we don't tell anyone the name till she's born. There are different shots, you can see how the room is all laid out.
