Carving our Pumpkin

Last night we carved our pumpkin. Tyler drew exactly the face he wanted.
Scott carved it for us. Scott and I cleaned the pumpkin out. Tyler would not even touch the inside.
Tyler said it smelled and sat back from us while plugging his nose. Then he retreated upstairs till we got rid of all the gunk from inside.
Once the smell was gone, he was fine to come back downstairs to have some pumpkin pie. We did cook the seeds too, but Tyler wouldn't try them.

Hoopsters

This semester Tyler is doing Hoopsters. It's with Alamo Tot Sports, so he's not on a team that plays other teams. He's in a class that teaches basketball skills. So far, he likes it and is having fun.

6 Months

Molly, you turned 6 months yesterday. I can not believe how fast the time has gone. This month, you are eating a little more baby food. You don't gobble it down, but you're doing better eating. We've only done sweet potatoes, squash, apples, and pears. You like oatmeal cereal, but not rice cereal. You still nurse from me and refuse a bottle. I've pretty much given up on trying one anymore. You roll over to your tummy and will stay there longer. You used to get mad right away, but now you'll play a little bit. At night, you sleep on your tummy too. You can sleep through the night, but the last few weeks, you usually wake up once and get upset when you're on your tummy. I get up and help you turn over and then you usually want to eat real quick-the whole process doesn't take more than 10 minutes, so I don't mind. I lay you back down on your back, but by morning you're on your tummy again. Your naps are getting longer, which is nice and you are staying up longer in between naps too. When you wake up, you give me big hugs. You still adore your brother and love when he plays with you. You just love watching him. We got you a jumparoo and you love it!! You like to spit a lot and still chew on everything. You can sit by yourself for maybe 10 seconds. You only fuss when you're hungry or tired and that doesn't last long because I feed you and put you down. You like watching the dogs and try to pet Wrigley when he's close to you. You like playing with your rings and rattles-you just shake it and shake it. I try to read a few little, easy board books to you everyday and you seem to like them. You love splashing in the bathtub, having lotion rubbed on you, and being just in your diaper. You do make it difficult for me to change you because you're always scooting away. You enjoy pulling my hair, which is why it's usually up. You like going on walks and if I go to the store and only need a few things, I put you in your stroller because you like to see what we're doing. You are still a very happy baby and just as sweet as can be!!

Bailey Renee is here!

Congratulations to my sister, Valerie who had her baby girl yesterday evening. Bailey Renee was born at 5:49. She was 21.5 in long and weighed 9 lbs 6 oz-can you even imagine! Val and Bailey are both doing well.
Here is big brother, Zac holding his new sister.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch. It had cooled off a bit here and we got sprinkled on a few times, but we still had fun. We went with our good friend, Sarah and her kids-Kyle & Kady. Here is our family picture on the hay ride. We couldn't get Molly to look.

Tyler said his favorite part was feeding the animals.

Weekend in Houston

Last weekend we went to Houston for a visit. We stayed busy and had a good time. We got there Friday around lunch time. Tyler mostly played with Grandmom Shobe all afternoon. They did lots of working. That evening, we went to our friends-John, Kathleen, Mark, and Brett-house. I, unfortunately did not take any pictures, but Tyler and Mark had a blast playing together. Brett is about 8 months and was so big and already crawling. This was their first time meeting Molly. It was nice to see them and catch up. Kathleen and I really enjoyed our walk with just the babies.

Saturday morning, Scott and his mom took Tyler to the Home Depot kids workshop. They made a rescue helicopter, which is right up Tyler's alley.
When they got back home, we spent lots of time outside. It was gorgeous weather. Grandmom knows how much Tyler loves to work, so she kept two bags of mulch out for him. He brought his wheel barrow and shovel and had a blast.

After lunch, we met up with my best friend, Dana to make scarecrows. It was hot and a little crazy, but now that we're home and we finished him up yesterday, I think he looks good. Here is Tyler stuffing his shirt and then the finished product.

I never seem to get a picture of me and Dana, but here she is with Molly.

Saturday evening after dinner, Tyler got to go in the spa. He had been waiting all day and was so excited to play in the water.

Sunday morning, while Scott and John golfed, me and the kids hung out with grandmom and grandpop. We went for a nice walk and fed the ducks. Of course, back at the house, Handy Manny & Dandy Dan had lots more work to do.

It was a nice weekend.
