Christmas Eve

The Shobes were here for Christmas.  Since we'd have tons of presents to open on Christmas, we decided to open gifts from the Chambers on Christmas Eve.  The kids had fun!

When he opened this, he said, this is the exact one I wanted!

Excuse the pained look, but he does like this.  It was supposed to be Lego storage, but he wants to put his tools in it.  I guess the other 3 tools boxes are not enough!

Checking out her new baby doll
Molly loves pushing her baby around.

The new  nesting/stacking blocks are a hit.  Plus, she loves to look at all the animals on them.
Sprinkling our reindeer food outside.  Molly dumped hers all in one place.

Christmas Crafts

Here are a few things we've been doing for Christmas.
I thought these trees turned out cute.  It was Molly's first craft I've done with her and she loved it.  I put the glue down and then she'd put the strip on.  She kept telling me "more".  She refused to put a tree trunk on.
This was Molly's first time painting and she loved it too.  We used toilet paper rolls to paint our tree.

After they dried, they used their fingers to make the ornaments.

Again, Molly did not want a tree trunk.
This was our holiday breakfast.  Word of advice-make normal pancakes, then use the cookie cutter to make the shape.  I poured the batter into the cookie cutter and even though I sprayed it with cooking spray, it would not come out nicely to turn over.  Then you have to try to hold the hot cookie cutter and use a knife to push the pancake out.  Learn from my mistake.  :)

Our holiday lunch.  I rotated this in my pictures, so I don't know why it comes up wrong.  It did the same things on FB.
Both kids had fun decorating brownies.  We went to a cookie decorating party too.  Molly goes a little crazy with the sprinkles.

Fun with G & G and Thanksgiving

My parents were here the week of Thanksgiving.  We had a great time with them.  We didn't do anything big this trip, just hung out.  My dad took the kids on several walks, him and Tyler went to the nearby worksites and played cars, and he read a gazzilion books to Molly.  Molly just loves my dad and wants him over me when he is here. She slowly warmed up to my mom enough to play a little with her, but didn't want her to hold her.

Molly loved walking between my Dad's legs.

Digging for shells with Grandma
Thanksgiving was nice. The food was fabulous if I do say so myself.  We had our friends, the Barnes over and they hosted two airmen.  We all had a nice time.

Wednesday night we all said things we were thankful for and wrote them on these pieces of paper attached to twine.
My mom and Tyler made these turkey leg place settings.  Tyler wrote all the names. They turned out cute.

Tyler wore his pilgrim outfit he made at school while eating.

Projects

My parents were here for the whole Thanksgiving week.  We had a great time.  We didn't do anything big this trip, we just hung out, ran errands, took walks to the park, and my mom helped with with several projects!  They are all projects I go off of Pinterest.  Here are pictures.  I love how everything turned out.
She made this fabulous sign for my matel.  I love it!
We made these trees.  You put twine in fabric stiffener and then roll it around a cone, add some green raffia, and then glue on berries when it dries.  They turned out cute.

I love Molly's felt tree and ornaments.  Molly decorates it over and over everyday.
I started this wreath when they came when  Molly when she was 5 months old.  My mom finished it for me.  It will look great on the door in the spring.
A big thanks to my mom for helping me with all these projects!
I'll be posting pictures of their visit and Thanksgiving later this week.

Tyler & Molly pictures

I had Tyler's 5 year and Molly's 18 months pictures taken last month.  We also got a family one for the Christmas card, but you'll have to wait to see it.  I'm a little jealous of my sisters because their photo sessions went great, their kids behaved and they got tons of cute poses and pictures. Not us!  Tyler went first since Molly fell asleep on the way and he did decent.  I love his 3 pictures.  Then we had to wake Molly up and she was in no mood for pictures.  The 2 of her are cute, but they aren't big smiles.  We weren't able to get any of the two of them, which bums me.  Maybe for her second birthday in April, we'll get lucky.  We got 2 decent family ones, but only in one spot and one pose because when we tried to move for more, Tyler had a meltdown.  Here are the pictures.

30 Hours kid free

This past weekend our sweet friends, the Bumgarners watched Tyler and Molly for us for a night.  We dropped them off Saturday at 9:30 and picked them up Sunday at 2:30.  It was great to just hang out with Scott, have fun, and remember what we were like before kids.  Anyways, we went to lunch at Chuy's and them zip lining in Wimberly.  It was lots of fun.

That evening we went to Gruene.  We had never been there before.  It was a cute little town with fun shops and we ate at the popular Gristmill.  It was right on the river and the food was delicious!

After dinner, on the way to our hotel, we had to stop at Chick-fil-a to get a peppermint shake.  I love them!  Then we did some Christmas shopping at Lowe's- for Tyler of course.

Sunday morning we slept in, had yummy pizza at California Pizza for lunch and then checked out Trader Joe's.  It just opened up here and we have never been to one.  Everyone has been crazy about it, but it just seemed like a regular store to me.  We don't eat lots of organic food, so maybe if we did, I'd love it too.  Tonight after the kids were in bed, we got to watch the Texans game together and they won!

It was a great weekend!

Halloween 2012

This year for Halloween, Tyler was the Gold Power Ranger and Molly was a ghost.  I made Molly's costume and it turned out really cute.

Molly was not thrilled with her tutu at first.  Once I asked if she wanted to go get candy, she adjusted to it quickly.

Off to the first house.

Kady- the pink ranger, Tyler -the gold ranger, Colby-a friend from school, and Kyle-the red ranger.

By the end of the evening, Tyler was tired and needed a ride too
