I Fly

For my birthday back in January, my sister-in-law gave me a gift card to IFly.  Scott had no interest in doing it and I swear Tyler said he'd do it with me then.  I found a Groupon for him and gave it to him for 5th grade graduation.  He was less than thrilled and said he never said he'd go.  I thought I'd have to go with my best friend, Debbie.  Then Molly asked what it was, so we showed her a video and she said she'd do it with me.

We each got two 1 min flights.  Molly wanted to add on a High Fly the last 30 seconds of the second minute.  You're only 4-5 feet off the ground as you can see.  For the High Fly, another guy comes in and takes you up 8-10 feet and you go in circles.  I went first and it's such a weird sensation.  It's super loud and windy, it's weird to breath, and you're concentrating on getting your position right.  I never felt like I was free falling or had an adrenaline rush because I was too busy concentrating.  Molly was nervous, but went in for her first minute and did well, but she also couldn't believe how loud and hard it was to breath. She only did the first flight, not the second.  On my second flight, I did the High Fly.  I didn't mind being up higher, but the circles were really fast.  If Molly would have done her second flight,  I would have told them not to do the High Fly.  Since Molly didn't go a second time, they gave me her flight.  By the third time I was more comfortable and sure of myself.  Still no adrenaline rush; that's what I like.  I've talked to people that have really sky dived and they say it's loud and super windy too, so it's not on my bucket list anymore.  I'm glad I did this though and I am so proud of Molly for being brave and trying something new.
