A Fishing Charter

On Thursday while at Gulf Shores, myself, Scott, Tyler, Val, Jason, and Zac all went out on a 4 hour fishing charter.  It was so much fun!  Again, the weather was great and we all had a blast and learned so much.  We started by catching our own bait.  During that time, several dolphins came up by the boat.  The captain baited out poles and had them out in the water.  When they'd move, we knew we had a fish.  We all took turns reeling them in.  We also dropped anchor a a few times and held the poles ourselves to fish.  Scott and I each caught a black drum, but they weren't big enough to keep.  Val caught a stingray, which we also threw back in.  Afterwards, Captain Jason filleted the fish for us.  It was overall a great experience.  I know we all want to go out again.

I was reeling in a fish here. While I was reeling in mine, 2 other lines went bobbing.  It was Val's turn and Tyler's.  They each had a big fish on their lines, like 35 lbs.  Tyler's snapped the line, but Val worked on her for about 10 min.  We even had the boat moving to follow it.  Hers finally went under the boat and snapped the line on the motor.  She reeled one in later, but I was taking pictures with her phone, so I don't have one of her with a fish either.  In that commotion, I reeled mine in, but no one got a picture.

Our catch!

We split the fish.  I fried half of ours on Saturday when we got home and baked the rest on Sunday.  It was delicious!  Fresh fish really is the best!
