Louisville

Our next stop after Indy was Louisville.  We went straight to the Louisville Slugger Museum.
The tour was very neat.  It was cool to see how the bats are made.  We saw where they make bats for several players in the major leagues.  Both kids were great on the tour.  And we all got free bats!  Just what two kids need, right!
My parents!! We had such a good time with them!

Here, you could do swings with bats that have been used by amazing players.  Scott had to wear gloves to keep the bats perfect.
They also had batting cages.  Tyler wanted to hit too, but you had to be 6 years old.  He had to settle for the kids area.

The next day, we went to Churchill Downs.  Again, it was a very interesting tour.
We're in the starting gates ready to go.

Several trainers were out riding their horses.  Tyler really liked that.  It's amazing to me that there are over 1,000 horses stabled there.
This is where the horses walk down going out to the track on race day.
Back inside the museum, there were horsed to ride and race up on a screen.  Tyler won his race several times.
There were displays on the jokey suits and hats & outfits that several popular women wore.
At the museum they had every Kentucky Derby ever raced that you could pull up and watch; they had a trivia game that Scott beat me at; they had phones that you could listen to the trainers talk about certain horses-it was interesting to learn about their personalities; an area when you could call the race and hear how you sounded compared to the real announcer.  They announcer was way better than me.  After the tour, we packed a lunch and went to this very cool park-Cherokee Park.  The kids had a blast!

Our time in Louisville was finished after this.  Molly was ready for a nap, so it was the perfect time to head to Nashville.  That post will be coming soon.
