I'm back!

I realize I have been MIA for awhile now. It has just been a crazy month.  School started and kids are doing well.  They like their classes and teachers. Molly has also started dance again and Tyler started basketball. He plays center and is loving it. 

First day of 1st grade.

 

First day of 5th grade.  Last year in Elementary school.

After the first week of school, Hurricane Harvey hit Houston.  We tried to get my in-laws to leave, but they wouldn't.  They had to be rescued by Coast Guard on Monday.  They were taken to a hotel, where they stayed almost a week.  Once the water went down and cars could drive there, Scott and Tyler went to pick them up the following Saturday.  They and their dog, Jett stayed with us for 3 weeks.  It was a long 3 weeks to be honest.  After a week with us, they were able to get into their house.  Scott and his Dad went and Brett came over from Austin.  They had a foot of water they stayed in their house for two weeks with no air.  Mold was already growing up the walls and on any furniture in the downstairs.  They saved pictures and different things that they could and made trips back and forth with all the stuff.  It was a very tiring week for them.  Their house is built up, so for water to get into their house, it was alot.  Both cars were underwater.  My in-laws did have flood insurance and have since then had the downstairs all gutted out.  They've moved into a rental here in San Antonio in a Del Webb community, which should be great for them. For now, they're just getting settled and will decide on what to do with their house in time. 

The second week they were here, we had our floors redone.  We tried to postpone it, but it wouldn't work.  Luckily, this was the week Harry and Scott were back and forth to Houston, so that was 2 less people during the work.  We got tile that looks like wood put in.  It's in all the downstairs area that had carpet.  It looks great, we really like it. 

The rug needs to be moved back still.
