Tyler's broken arm
This past Saturday, Tyler broke his arm. We have a gate on the stairs so Trooper can not go up-it's not puppy proof up there. Tyler likes to come down the stair and jump over it. He's made it over every other time and we've told him over and over not to jump over it. But he's a boy and thinks he can do anything! While I love that about him, we know he is not invincible like he thinks. Well, Saturday he clipped his foot on it and landed on his arm. Scott took him to Urgent care and they did x-rays and confirmed it was broken. It's his left arm and they said it was above the elbow, almost in the same place he broke it 2 years ago. Yesterday at the Pediatric Orthopedic, he did not see a break there. It is below the elbow. He has to wear a cast for almost 4 weeks. He did get a camo one like he wanted.

My little gymnist
Molly started gymnastics today and loved it! She did not want to leave. They did stretches, obstacle course, trampoline, balance beam, summersaults, free time and she loved it all. Isn't she the cutest in her leotard and shorts!
First Haircut
Miss Molly had her first hair cut yesterday. She always wants her hair down and it kept getting stuck under her arms and in her car seat belt, so we knew it was time to get a little trim. She was such a big girl and did great.
Here are the official before and afters. She got about 2 1/2 inches cut off.
She, of course, let Julia do her hair when she was finished. She did pig tails and the part was criss cross.

Tyler's 6 year pictures and some of Molly too
My friend and talented photographer, Jennifer took Tyler's 6 year pictures. I also wanted some of the two of them. We got one since Tyler would not cooperate well for them. Then my friend took some of Molly. I hadn't asked her to, but I wasn't about to say no. They turned out great.
Our New Sign
When we went up to OH to meet the puppies, Janie has this great wooden Field Spaniel sign in her yard. We really liked it, so when Scott went up to get Trooper, he took material with him to trace it. Him and Tyler got he wood the other day for it and got right to work. It turned out great!

Our New Addition
This past Saturday, we welcomed Trooper into our family. He is a black and tan Field Spaniel. He is the most adorable thing! He's got that sweet puppy breath and cute little face. We are loving him. The kids adore him, although he likes to chew and nip at their feet, shorts, and Molly's hair. They have a lot of fun with him. He was 9 weeks when we got him and about 9 pounds. He'll get to be around 40-45 pounds. Here he is:
Ivy is adjusting alright. They have actually played a few times-chasing each other and her tail was wagging. She's snapped at him though too to show him who's boss and done plenty of growling at him.

Science Day & the Witte Museum
This past week, my friend, Amy came over with her kiddos and we had a science day. It was a lot of fun.
Next we mixed oil and colored water in bottles. Then we put in an Alka-Seltzer tablet and it bubbles up to the top. The kids really liked it.
Then we put vinegar in a bottle and but some baking soda in a balloon. You put the balloon on the bottle and shake in the baking soda. The reaction blows up the balloon.
We mixed colors too.
We also made raisins dance. You fill a cup with 7 up or something similar, then drop in the raisins. The carbonation bubbles onto the raisins making them drop to the bottom of the cup and then bounce back up and keeps repeating that.
Wednesday, we went to the Witte Museum with Amy and the kids again. It was a fun museum with lots to do.
They had this really cool tree house that the kids loved.
They also had a dinosaur exhibit going on. At first, Molly was a little scared, but by the end she was waving to them. They roared and their heads moved, mouths opened, and front claws moved.

You insert a penny and the move the lever up and down to flatten it. Below is the penny Tyler did.

Up the wall he goes! He really liked this rock wall
This fish was called a Sailfin Molly. The water was behind the museum, so I like to think Molly was looking for her fish in the next picture, but she was really looking for ducks.
